HEAT Services for Young Women:
HIV counseling and testing for young women both on and off-site.
Confidential, comprehensive care for HIV+ young women, provided by an interdisciplinary team at the HEAT clinic including: primary adolescent health care, HIV treatment, emergency contraception, sexual/reproductive health care, HIV risk reduction, family planning counseling, sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, pregnancy testing and options counseling, pre-natal care for teen moms, treatment adherence education and support, and access to clinical research.
HIV+ young women are assigned a case manager to assist with entitlements, health insurance, housing, immigration issues, education/employment needs, and legal advocacy referrals.
HEAT psychologists provide individual, couples and family therapy for you.
Weekly group for young women of color (WESPEAK) to meet and learn about HIV prevention and conduct HIV advocacy work.
Pregnant teens and young mothers receive parenting education and support.
HEAT’s transition specialist will help young women build the life skills necessary to maximize their potential to live as independent adults.
Street outreach, resource tabling at young women’s events, conferences, health summits and large-scale HIV testing events targeting young women of color Safer sex parties for young women to provide them with educational resources, safe sex supplies, HIV counseling and testing and STI screening
